Fashion Friday | Children’s Portrait Session

I get asked all the time what should be worn for a portrait session, so I am starting a weekly fashion post on ideas of what goes together with the latest fashions you can find in the stores.

This weeks Fashion Friday would work well for a Fall sibling session with young children.   Of course you can never go wrong with all solids, but its so much more fun to incorporate a little bit of personality into your portraits.   Just be sure that all of the outfits complement each other.

The 5×7 Storyboard | Olympia Tacoma Family Photographer

I’ve offered it all year as part of the session fee when booking a full session.   Now I have finally taken some pictures of it so you can see what it actually looks like!   Clients love these!   I choose the images that I think go best together from your session.   Aren’t they just perfect for the desk or on a bookshelf?

Summertime Salsa

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  I don’t know about you but I love fresh made salsa.   So much so I grew a garden so I could have the freshest salsa anytime I want (well by anytime, I suppose I mean when everything is ripe–in August).    All the ingredients except for the lime I am growing in our garden.   Now the tomatoes aren’t ripe yet but our local produce truck just got in some of these delectable Yakima tomatoes so I couldn’t resist.   They are as close to heaven as I can imagine!  The onion I picked from my garden, but my jalapenos are not quite ready so this one was store bought.    In any case, it turned out delicious.

Getting Wet | Olympia Children’s Photographer

My family has been immensely enjoying our little backyard pool this summer, especially with this warm weather.   I took some time yesterday and captured a few photos of my daughter swimming.  This turned out to be my favorite.   I can’t wait ’till tomorrow —  going to go get this same shot at Lauren’s pool, one of my 2010 senior spokesmodels.  Stay tuned for more images soon!   Oh, and I’d be happy to do this shot at the studio for any seniors that might want to be brave and get a little wet!
