Kai – 6 days old | Newborn Photography

What a beautiful name, and what a beautiful family!   Newborns are always my absolute favorite subjects to photograph and this little one was no different.  Her parents were a joy to work with and she was a trooper for us.  Here’s a few of our favorites from the session.

Children’s Portraiture | 8 years old

It’s that time of year again.  Birthday season.  And that means its time for portraits.  Originally we went last weekend to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.   We hit Fort Nisqually, the waterfront, the logging camp, and the zoo, all in a whirlwind session.  But something was bothering me and I couldn’t put my finger on it and then I realized that every year, we’ve done her portraits wearing brown.  Its not something I planned, but it just kind of happened–maybe the fact that she has a fall birthday has something to do with it.  So off to Target for a new brown sweater, and the perfect time of day (4:15 pm at this time of year) and we were set.  Except that I didn’t put the dog in and he kept jumping into all the shots.  So we went with it.    I can’t believe my little girl is getting so big!

A Newborn With Head of Hair | Olympia Newborn Photography

This beautiful newborn definitely ranks up there for fullest head of hair. The blue blanket was his–I love when I can photograph these infants with their own belongings! Their dad called the photo of him and his sister together, where she has her ear up to him “Whispers”. I love it!

Karissa-Have to Post The Big One

I have to show it bigger. My old blog posts just don’t do these beautiful children justice compared to my new blog post images, so I have to post it again, in the bigger size. Isn’t she lovely? I thought so!

Pregnancy Portraits–39 weeks

We squeezed this maternity session one week before their baby’s due date, however, their baby had other plans and decided to wait another two weeks before she arrived.  See previous post for her newborn session.   I love the vivid bright colors they brought for their portraits!

6 Day Old Newborn Portraits

This beautiful newborn had the most beautiful red hair and the sweetest disposition.  She was a joy to photograph!   For the last image, we weren’t exactly going for this look, but this is what we got.   Poor baby was done by then.

Our NEW Blog is Here!

I actually started working on this new blog back in April and then never got around to finishing it.  But finally after a few dedicated hours to fussing with it, I think I finally have it finished enough to start using it in place of my blogger blog.    Yeah!   That only took six months!!

The best thing about this new blog are the image sizes.   They are big and beautiful!

Little Ones… Children’s Photography in Olympia, WA

What happens when you have one busy busy toddler and one sleepy baby?   Well, its not portraits together.   We tried, but they were just not “having it.”    I was thrilled though with the ones we got of them individually and with their mom and grandmother.  Aren’t they precious little ones?

Gotta love a paint!  It can transform a plain boring wall into something spectacular in just a little bit of time.   My daughter helped me paint the other half of my last white wall this weekend and these quick snapshots were the results.    Its going to look great for senior portraits…..and….and…and….

We painted a new Wall in the Studio!

My daughter and I whipped out the paints this week and painted half my long white wall in the studio.   Aside from being fun to experiment with several shades of paint, I think it looks gorgeous.   I took a quick snapshot of it with Miss J. posing of course, but have since already done two sessions using it.   I’m sure we’ll get lots of use out of this wall.   Next up…..shades of blue on the other half of the wall.
