Runs in the family

It must. You see, I didn’t take this picture of myself, my 6 year old daughter did. Ok, I confess–I did set up everything for her including setting up the lighting, and the camera, all the way down to the focus points. But she did a pretty good job aiming and making sure my eyes were in focus. But don’t get any ideas–it’ll be a long time before she’s my offical assistant.

Mission Something or Other…

Ok, I’m not one to normally pass on *stuff* I see online or send out emails with jokes, etc., but I have to share this little video made by Mike Fulton of TriCoast Photography, a very talented wedding photographer. He and his assistant, Cody, are just too funny…even if their mission involves Canon equipment.

The Twins and their Brother

I so excited to have these guys back in the studio again. They are three now and I’ve been photographing them since they were one. And now they have a sweet little brother! They were all full of energy and ready to play.

Just a Little Perspective

I saw this little story online and it really hit home. I’ve been told this more than once (the camera part–I don’t really cook!)

~There was a man who was an avid photographer. He had just returned from vacation and was visiting friends for dinner. While there, he shared his vacation photos with them. They were awed by the great images he captured. Finally, the woman of the house said to him, “Those are great photos. You must have a really great camera.” The man just smiled and nodded. As the man was preparing to leave, he graciously thanked the host. Then he said, “That was a great dinner. You must have really great pots and pans.~

The New Studio

Can I just say how incredibly “beyond words” excited I am that my dream of having a real live studio is actually coming to fruition? We just signed the contract with the contractor and work begins before month’s end on our new studio. It will be complete with “hardwood” floors, lots of wall space for a variety of sets/backdrops, 12 foot ceilings, and a bathroom/changing area, and all just a few steps out my front door. I will post pics of the progress once we get started.

Dress Up

Can you say “so far behind that you can’t see straight?” I am just now getting to this batch of pictures that I took on our trip home to Pennsylvania last March! I loved this one of Miss Kate all dressed up and looking pretty.

Downtown Oly

I am always on the lookout for a great location, and last week I found the coolest little moss covered brick alleyway right under my nose. So today I dragged my daughter down there to take some test shots. I think this spot will be great for High School Seniors! Don’t you?

Little A.

I could have sworn I didn’t get any shots of her sleeping, but her Daddy had such a gentle way of calming her, I was pleasantly surprised to find there were quite of few of her sleeping.
