What is it about chubby little baby cheeks? They are just so cute! I had the pleasure of photographing little 4 week old Nolan yesterday and I have to say he was the MOST cooperative baby. So laid back and easy going, I almost forgot I was photographing a newborn. And I love that I got to photograph him since I also photographed his older sister when she was a newborn. He looks just like her with an extra couple lbs. on him than she had at the same age.

To not have my computer! But the good news is I should have it back soon. And the even better news is that I went ahead upgraded and bought a new computer which should be here next week. It will be wonderful showing clients their images on a big 20″ screen.
On another note: If you are thinking about booking a session, I am completely and utterly booked solid until August 15th (and then that’s the only day I have available that week). I’m not sure I could even squeeze a newborn in before then!
Check back often though as I plan to have a session sale for September. Details will follow as soon as I get my computer back and can function properly again!!! Thanks for baring with me.
Why is it when everything breaks is when the phone rings the most? I’m NOT complaining at all about being booked with sessions, but my beloved eMac just developed some major hardware problems and is in the repair shop. This means I can do sessions but I can’t proof any images or have clients come in for their preview sessions until I get the computer back…hopefully in a week. So please bare with me as a fuddle my way through the week with a borrowed laptop (thank you John!!!)

Some days we all just need to take a day off. So I did! My daughter and I swam in the pool all afternoon and she helped me paint yet another canvas backdrop. Here’s a pic of her fresh out of the pool warming up with a sweater (color coordinated to the backdrop of course!) and one of the new backdrops we painted last week.

This is a fabulous way to get your family portraits done before the Holiday Rush.

I will be the first one to admit that some children are more of a challenge than others to capture. But with Christian, a 3 year old quick as lightening spitfire, I anticipated that if I got even one image where he was looking at me, then I would have succeeded with the session. But when I loaded the images from the session onto my computer, this close up made me literally cry. For its images such as this that make me do what I do. I love my job, and I love with all my heart that I was able to truly capture Christian for his family, especially his mom!

I just have to brag on one of my baby planner moms for a minute. I first met Chelsi when she brought her newborn daughter in for a session. That was almost two years ago! Chelsi also a son who is now 3 years old. Christian was diagnosed with autism not too long after his sister was born. Over the past 2 years, I have had the honor of photographing these two many times, and each time they come in, I am amazed at how well their mom handles all the challenges that God has given her. So to Chelsi, I just want to tell you that I think you are the most awesome mother, and amazing person, and I am honored to know you!

Sometimes that’s what I say I’ll do to capture just the right image. Sometimes its easy, and sometimes, well it can quite the challenge, especially with siblings. I was starting to think that I wasn’t going to get anything of these three together. The youngest wasn’t too thrilled to be doing a photo session, but we persevered and let them play. Eventually, he warmed up and I even got a smile…or two.
