Location Contest!

There is nothing I love more than shooting at a fantastic new location. Submit your location to me via email: info@andreahautala.com. Tell me all about what is there and why it would be a great place for portraits. You don’t have to tell me where it is unless you win. If you provide a picture of it, I am more likely to choose it. The only requirements for it are that it needs to be within 20 minutes of Olympia, and you have to either know it is a public place, or have permission to use it, or it is on your own property. This can be a cabin, gorgeous gardens, an old run down house…a field of flowers- just use your imagination :) The location winner gets a free session and an 8×10 portrait.

This contest will run through June! I will announce the winner on this blog!

A Fun Family

Sometimes one year olds can be quite a challenge. But this little guy was so much fun! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed capturing him, in all his seriousness and silly grins. And I’m thrilled that I was able to capture this beautiful family before they move out of state. M. and J., you are going to have a hard time choosing!

Sweet Sweet Baby

I know the mom of this precious newborn didn’t think this little guy would EVER go to sleep. But we persevered and he finally closed his eyes to visit to the land of nod. This is my most favorite shot from the session. I love newborns!

Summer Scheduling

I can’t believe Summer is so close! Looking at my calendar for available openings, I realized that June is going to be the most available month this summer!

May is completely booked but I have four openings the first week in June–the 5th in the am, the 6th, and the 9th in the am. The remainder of June is pretty open at the moment.

In July, openings are on July 20, 26, 28 PM, and 31.

In August, openings are on August 3, 14, 15, 23, 25, 29, 31.

That’s it, the rest of the summer calendar is booked!

Once school starts in the fall, I will have much more availability, and some early evenings as well for senior sessions.

This is Alex, another one of my baby planners. I loved that Alex and her mom came in matching colors! And check out the darling hair. Isn’t she just the sweetest?

Catchlights

Being a photographer means always marveling at the wonderful catchlights I see in the eyes of the children I photograph. And of course, natural light brings out some really great ones if one is in the right place and the right time. The car is one of those strange places I love to photograph because the catchlights are so amazing! Look in her eyes here…you can totally see me in her eyes.

Happy Mother’s Day

I recently ran a Mothers Day Special–a Mommy and Me Limited Edition. It was such fun to photograph the moms with their children! This is one of the moms that came in with her sweet one year old Lindsey.

Rainy Sunday Afternoon

What to do on a cold rainy spring Sunday afternoon? Grab some flowers and finally do a mini shoot with daughter in her Easter Dress (that she hates!) Which reminds me…I have one more week left of my high key white sale special going on.
