Fun Family | Olympia Family Photographer

I had the honor of photographing this little guy when he turned one last year.  Now he’s expecting a brother and just turned two!    It was wet and yucky outside the day of their session so we stuck to the studio.   Here’s the link to his one year portraits:  Evan’s 1 Year Portraits

Family of Four at Tolmie State Park | Olympia Lacey Family Photographer

We had a blast at this gorgeous location.  And while I don’t think I’ll go back there again in the morning (I like the evening light better) I did manage to find some great spots to avoid the harshness of the morning sun.   The boys were complete gems too!   Fun Fun times!

Family of 8 at Tolmie State Park | Olympia Family Photography

The weather was perfect this fine early August evening at Tolmie State Park for this beach session.  The kids were so good, they made the session a breeze.     Thanks K. and B. for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family!

Newborn “G” at 6 Days Old | Olympia Newborn Photography

When Baby “G” came back in we concentrated on getting a variety of portraits with his mom and dad, and family portraits, as well as adding a few shots that we didn’t get a chance to do in the earlier session.    He fought us hard, but he finally fell asleep at the end.

1 year old in the studio | Children’s Photographer in Olympia

Haven’t had the chance to update the blog with a few more posts of K. from her one year old session.   The BW one with all the white was from outside in the snow.  She wasn’t actually buried up to her waist, but kneeling down in the snow.   We were only out for a few minutes but we had fun playing in the cold wet stuff.

3 days old | Newborn Portraits in Olympia

What a dream!   Sweet baby Leighton slept so well for us.    It helped that we had the studio a toasty 85 degrees and the space heater blasting.   I have so many favorites that I just can’t choose….so I’ll post all my faves.   A few new hats too.   Found the big chunky cream one at a Holiday Bazaar last month and I knitted the new striped one.

A Newborn Straight from the Hospital | Newborn Photography

I often joke with clients that I’d be happy if they come for their newborn session straight from the hospital, but never quite get any takers.   This beautiful family was from out of town and preferred to not have to come back to Olympia a few days later for their newborn session.   Luckily we were able to make it happen (you know how unpredictable those babies can be when it comes to being born at a certain time).     And while I was CERTAIN that we’d get a million sleeping baby shots as he was so young, this little one had other ideas, and stayed awake for us the entire time.   I have to say he was the most alert newborn for being so young.    Older brother participated too and we also concentrated on a family portrait.

Family Photography in the Studio

It was a nice break to have off over the holidays, but finally getting back to posting sessions again.  This is a family wanting to update their family portrait because they have a new addition to their family!

Newborn 11 days old | Olympia Newborn Photography

Meet 11 day old baby Desmond.  He was such a wide awake and alert newborn, probably the most calm and awake infant I have ever photographed!   Usually awake and calm don’t go together in the studio, but Desmond was a breeze to photograph.  We got so many great shots, it was hard to choose which ones to post.

Family Portraits | Olympia Washington Photography

Its that time of year again…..everyone is coming in for family portraits to give as gifts for the holiday season and for greeting cards.   I got the chance to photograph this fun family two weeks ago in the studio and I was amazed how well their little ones worked with me!

Family Portraits in the Studio | Olympia Family Photographer

I’ve gotten the chance to photograph these two children separately over the last year or so, and was thrilled when I got the call to photograph them altogether for family portraits.  I always love it when everyone matches so beautifully together too.

Mother & Son Portraits

We had the best time!  Fighting gloomy overcast skies that threatened to pour forth with rain (they did after their session was over) we took advantage of the beautiful fall foliage.  This spirited 10 year old definitely showed me his full-of-life personality.  He was a blast to photograph…and his mom was pretty “cool” too.  :-)  You can see the love they share for each other, and that’s the whole point of what I do–being able to capture that bond between family members.
