I had the honor of photographing this little guy when he turned one last year. Â Now he’s expecting a brother and just turned two! Â Â It was wet and yucky outside the day of their session so we stuck to the studio. Â Here’s the link to his one year portraits: Â Evan’s 1 Year Portraits

Haven’t had the chance to update the blog with a few more posts of K. from her one year old session. Â The BW one with all the white was from outside in the snow. Â She wasn’t actually buried up to her waist, but kneeling down in the snow. Â We were only out for a few minutes but we had fun playing in the cold wet stuff.

What a dream! Â Sweet baby Leighton slept so well for us. Â Â It helped that we had the studio a toasty 85 degrees and the space heater blasting. Â I have so many favorites that I just can’t choose….so I’ll post all my faves. Â A few new hats too. Â Found the big chunky cream one at a Holiday Bazaar last month and I knitted the new striped one.

I often joke with clients that I’d be happy if they come for their newborn session straight from the hospital, but never quite get any takers. Â This beautiful family was from out of town and preferred to not have to come back to Olympia a few days later for their newborn session. Â Luckily we were able to make it happen (you know how unpredictable those babies can be when it comes to being born at a certain time). Â Â And while I was CERTAIN that we’d get a million sleeping baby shots as he was so young, this little one had other ideas, and stayed awake for us the entire time. Â I have to say he was the most alert newborn for being so young. Â Â Older brother participated too and we also concentrated on a family portrait.

Meet 11 day old baby Desmond. Â He was such a wide awake and alert newborn, probably the most calm and awake infant I have ever photographed! Â Usually awake and calm don’t go together in the studio, but Desmond was a breeze to photograph. Â We got so many great shots, it was hard to choose which ones to post.

We had the best time! Â Fighting gloomy overcast skies that threatened to pour forth with rain (they did after their session was over) we took advantage of the beautiful fall foliage. Â This spirited 10 year old definitely showed me his full-of-life personality. Â He was a blast to photograph…and his mom was pretty “cool” too. Â :-) Â You can see the love they share for each other, and that’s the whole point of what I do–being able to capture that bond between family members.
